Dear Parent/Guardian,

We are writing to let you know that Scouts will start back on Monday the 20th of September and will again run from 7:30 to 9:30. A registration fee of 50 euro will be needed to register and insure your child with Scouting Ireland. We apologise for the delay in starting back this year and we put it down to a really busy summer which included Camps in Zambia and Tipperary and the Phoenix Challenge ( National Scout Competition which we qualified for this year). We hope that any of your children who attended these camps or events thoroughly enjoyed them.

A lot will change this year in our Scout Section, due to the new age ranges brought in from Scouting Ireland and the fact that 6 or 7 of our older lads are finished in Scouts and have headed up to Ventures our average age will go way down . It will be a tough year for leaders as we are faced with rebuilding and refocusing our Scout Group but we can guarantee we are up for the challenge.

As amazing an achievement our camp to Zambia was, the downside was it took an awful lot of Leaders time and focus and those Scouts who did not attend maybe lost out a little in our section This year all that time and focus will be put into training and programme ideas to ensure we keep your children interested, and that Scouting is kept as a high priority choice for children in our community.

We look forward to working with you again through the next Scouting year and hope you all had a lovely summer. We look forward to hearing all the stories on Monday 20th. . For any further information on our Scout Group or upcoming events log onto

Yours In Scouting
